Casa Umbris – An architecture that turns inward toward the street, yet captivates through its proportions, light, and the tension between materials.

The main volume, monolithic and almost sculptural, acts as a monumental frame that encloses the life within. The light-colored natural stone conveys a sense of permanence and solidity, while the vertical timber introduces rhythm, warmth, and a human scale. The contrast between these two materials is not merely aesthetic—it is emotional. Cool and warm. Solid and tactile. Raw and refined.

The entrance is intentionally compressed between the volumes, creating a moment of transition and mystery. The house does not reveal itself all at once, but gradually. Integrated lighting enhances the purity of the geometry, transforming the architecture into an almost cinematic object after dusk.

Large glazed surfaces, concealed behind the mineral “shell,” filter natural light and establish a carefully balanced relationship between privacy and openness. Everything is reduced to its essence: proportion, materiality, light, and tranquility.
