The Azzuro Constanța project represents a complete realization by Atelier GNR, where we developed the structure, architecture, and space organization from scratch, transforming an empty volume into a functional, coherent, and recognizable lounge.
Structure and architectural concept
The interior space was conceived entirely through a lamellar wood structure, designed to:
- define the architectural language of the entire venue,
- bring order to the ceiling and volumes,
- conceal installations and equipment,
- create a warm and continuous spatial rhythm.
The elements are dimensionally calibrated for rigidity, rapid assembly, and easy maintenance.
Slat walls and modular panels
We designed and executed vertical cladding with geometric wooden panels, mounted on metal substructures. These:
- provide the venue’s specific visual identity,
- allow for the integration of lighting and installations,
- are completely demountable for technical access.
Space organization
Atelier GNR established the interior partitioning, traffic flows, positioning of serving areas, and the configuration of the entire space so that capacity, circulation, and comfort are optimized.
The Facade
The exterior was also designed from scratch: a decorative facade with wooden slats, which creates a coherent image and offers the visual frame for the Azzuro logo.
The result: a space created entirely through architecture, structure, and technical composition, where subsequent decorative elements integrated naturally over a well-thought-out and executed skeleton. Atelier GNR built the functional and identity framework that defines the Azzuro atmosphere today.
